Established in the early 1980’s as a family business, MER is a publicly traded company (TASE: CMER) employing approximately 600 people. Our Path Forward

1934
Aharon Mer immigrates to Tel Aviv and establishes a workshop in the Florentine neighborhood to manufacture steel parts for the young city’s growing industries.
1977
Aharon’s son, Chaim Mer, joins the family business and expands the steel workshop to manufacture communication towers.
1987
A new revolutionary software that manages and tracks communication data, TABS, is developed by MER.
1988
The telecom division starts deploying cable TV infrastructure throughout Israel.
1992
The telecom division expands its activity and starts deploying cellular network infrastructure throughout Israel.
1994
MER becomes a publicly traded company on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
1997
MER begins deploying cellular network infrastructure in Latin America.
1999
MER implements security and communication systems at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina, including the first-ever implementation of the Secure-M system.
2000
Mabat 2000 provides innovative end-to-end security and communications systems for Jerusalem’s Old City, including a first-of-its-kind command & control center.
2004
MER wins its first mega-event security contract to protect the Athens Olympic Games.
2005
MER enters the intelligence and cyber markets with the acquisition of Athena.
2009
MER begins supporting municipalities in creating smarter and safer cities, with its first implementation in Rishon Letzion, using innovative micro-trenching technology to deploy fiber optic networks throughout the city.
2014
FIMI Opportunity Funds invests in MER and becomes a major shareholder.
2019
MER wins a major contract to provide security and surveillance systems to peacekeeping forces around the world.
2023
MER relocates to a new headquarters in the city of Or Yehuda and rebrands the company.
