The Company will deploy a communications network for security, emergency and lifesaving services at 3WTC. The scope of the project is estimated at 30 million shekels.
Yaron Livnat, General Manager of the Defense and Technology Division, MER Group: “Since 9/11, the city of New York dictates new standards that require public buildings and multi-story towers to support communications for ‘First Responders’. At 3WTC we will deploy an advanced wireless network that will enable continuous and uninterrupted communications even in extreme conditions”
Holon, April 24 8, 2017: MER Group (TASE: CMER), provider of telecom, security, intelligence, and cyber solutions, recently announced that it was selected by the Silverstein Properties corporation, through its through its general contractor, Tishman Construction Corporation, to execute the planning, erection and integration of the smart communications network in 3WTC – the new tower erected in the World Trade center complex in Manhattan, New York. The scope of the project is estimated at about 8.3 million dollars (about 30 million shekels).
Within the framework of the project, which will begin in April 2017 and is expected to last about a year, MER Group will responsible for the planning, deployment and integration of a communications network in the 80 story tall tower which is designated primarily for office space and commerce. The communications network is based on radio waves and is designed to support a variety of communications frequencies used by the emergency, security and lifesaving services known as ‘First Responders’. Additionally, the equipment from which the system is comprised is very robustm which allows for continuous operation even in an instance of damage to its components
This is MER Group’s tenth project in New York City and the fourth in the World Trade Center. In 2012, MER Group first connected 1 WTC, the tallest tower of the ‘World Trade Center’ which 104 stories high. Following the success of the project in tower 1, MER installed a similar system in the complex’s shopping mall and is currently developing a system in another building.
The goal of the communications projects in the WTC complex is to ensure reception and broadcasting at the highest level in real-time and in emergency between ‘first responder’ forces – primarily among the fire department, police and emergency medical services. On one hand, the system enables uninterrupted communications among the forces scattered along the different stories of the tower and on the other hand, it supports the communications frequencies that connect all of the forces.
Yaron Livnat, General Manager of the Defense and Technology Division, MER Group “In recent years we deployed ten smart communications networks in exclusive complexes across New York, and 3WTC is the fourth project that we are deploying in the ‘World Trade Center’. “Since 9/11 the city of New York dictates new standards that requires public buildings and multi-story towers to support communications for ‘First Responders’. At 3 World Trade Center, we will deploy an advanced wireless network that meet these standards and will enable continuous and uninterrupted communications even in extreme conditions. Emergency services won’t be required to make any changes in the way they work, nor will they be required to change their communications equipment in time of emergency. This exclusive win comes thanks to the innovative technology and high level of execution that we demonstrated and positions the Group as a leader in its field in eh American market”.
