MER Group awarded the Israel Police Mabat 2000 upgrade project valued approximately 30 million NIS and spanning ten years
Holon, September 15, 2016: MER Group, a supplier of communications, security, intelligence and cyber solutions, hereby announces that it has won a tender by the Israel Police to upgrade and maintain the Safe City systems, communications infrastructure and a video analysis system for the Mabat 2000 project in the Old City of Jerusalem.
The project will upgrade the operational capabilities of the Israel Police in order to improve personal safety in and around the Old City using innovative systems that provide fast and efficient solutions for personal safety issues in Jerusalem. The contract is for 10 years and is valued at approximately 30 million NIS.
In 1999, MER won the first tender to develop the Mabat 2000 project and all related infrastructure before the Pope’s visit to Jerusalem in 2000.The current tender is for the upgrade of existing systems to more advanced technology, including improved resolution and video quality and sophisticated video analytics systems.
MER Systems will upgrade the command and control software used at the police control center in the Old City of Jerusalem and will install a new version of the command and control system developed by Secure-M NG. At the end of the upgrade process, the company will provide support and services for these systems until 2025, including software upgrades, system maintenance, and customer support 24/7.
